For our last funny experiments class of the year we did an experiment with soda and mentos. First we watched a video that demonstrated how to do the experiment. We decided to try the experiment three different ways. We had a sprite can, small pepsi bottle, and large coke bottle. The children guessed that the large coke bottle would make the biggest fountain. We then went outside to test out their theory. When the mentos were added to the sprite can, it only fizzed a small amount. Then the mentos were added to the small pepsi bottle and the children were excited to see a bigger reaction. Finally the mentos were added to the large coke bottle and the children were so surprised by how high the coke went in the air. This experiment was a great way to end the class for the year.
